Out with the old, in with the older!

Well, there it is – the Saab had to go, unfortunately, but as promised it has been replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable: a 1993 VW Golf 2.0 GTi 8v. And there you have it – it’s quick, it’s black, it’s totally boy racer – and it’s mine! Trust me, I’m not planning on any Max Power makeovers – not till I move to Southend, anyway…

But it’s a nice car – quick but not as quick as the Saab (which took some getting used to); leather seats, CD player, electric windows/sunroof, alarm/immobiliser, blah blah… A few tweaks, and it’ll be a very fine car indeed!

The weekend before last, I went on a mad tear up to the vicinity of Rugby to see my lovely god-daughter Ella and good mates (her parents!) Matt & Saz. Saz is heavily pregnant and due around the same time as Gwyneth, which makes for a sudden influx of Geminis! Fun and frolics notwithstanding, I had to head back to the smoke for mate Robert’s wedding to the lovely Amy on Sunday – photos from both of these events will be in the gallery soon.

Isn’t this weather lovely? I’ve been out and about on my mountain bike, with newly fitted SPD pedals and Shimano SPD shoes, thrashing the living daylights out of it while the sunshine lasts. Well, more like thrashing the living daylights out of ME, but nevermind… Still, gotta enjoy it while we’ve got it – probably have a long, wet June/July/August to look forward to, and then Autumn is upon us once more. Pessimistic? Me?? Nahhhhh…..

And as you’re viewing the website, you’re actually looking at it in a different location – it’s moved home in the past week or so. The web hosting providers with whom I was doing business before turned out to be naff beyond compare, so I’ve shifted. Nuff said…

And I really should be getting some work done! Cya…
