Happy St Patrick`s Day!!!

Well, there you go – I just got in there on time. Quite unpatriotically and out of character for me, I’m not out on the lash at the moment, as I’m utterly skint, but once I’m flush again I’ll make up for it. And that’s a promise.

Had an interesting event earlier in the week, when I found that some idiot had posted some incomprehensible nonsense in my guestbook here. It seemed to be that he thought that neither I nor my esteemed readership have anything resembling a life – this from a guy who (a) took the time to write not once, but three times(!) in my guestbook, and (b) couldn’t even spell. Cheers mate! Duly noted (and binned)…

On a more clement note, my heart’s cockles have been warmed by the dramatic improvement in the weather – biking adventures can’t be far away now! I’m thinking maybe the south of France, or – ohhh, I’ll think of something. Whatever it is, it’ll be fun, be in no doubt of that.

But more sobering is the spectacle of the political parties limbering up for the usual b*tch-slapping session that is our electoral process. Although having observed the US debacle last year, I’m not sure we’re in the pro league yet… I’ve often thought what a political career would be like for me, and I always come to the same conclusion: short. I admire honesty too much; I value it particularly in people of power, and I’ve seen nothing of it in the goons who pass for a government in this country. And I think that honesty would probably be my downfall as a politician – but it’d be fun! 😀

I mean, is there anyone in this country that believes that Labour didn’t raise taxes? They promised us “we won’t raise income tax” – and lo! they haven’t. But they increased national insurance, and put taxes on everything that wasn’t nailed down, and raised a few other taxes here and there just for good measure. Oh – and closed a few loopholes, too – just to make sure that any of those nasty entrepreneurial business types weren’t making any money they shouldn’t be. Bah! My vote will be Monster Raving Loony Party this year, if they’re still about…

So life goes on. I’m itching to get out of it for a bit, cos I’m stressed, overworked and underpaid. Given that I’m my own boss (after a fashion), that’s kinda sad – but it’s set to improve. Business is really happening right now, and fingers crossed it keeps on doin’ what it’s doin’. But a break would be nice, and Ireland is calling me from across the waves. And her siren song will soon become irresistable. After payday, basically.

I’m getting a strong feeling of having taken too much on board recently. I’ve got my job, which is pretty bloody full-time at the moment. I’ve got a few bits & pieces that I do on the side (mates’ websites and so forth), and I’ve also got my hypnotherapy studies that are beginning to suffer slightly. I’m going to be launching a thing with my mates Ian, Mono & Kerrie, which will take over from happenins.co.uk as the focus of my musical promotional efforts. At some point, I’m going to be attempting to do some screenwriting with my mucker Matanza, which ought to be good fun. And at the beginning of the week, I was offered a bass-playing job with mates Edd & Mitra. Time is most definitely *not* on my side at the moment…

But so it is. I’ll figure it out, and prioritise, and sort my life out and so on and so forth. But it’s all good, and I certainly can’t complain about most of what’s going on in my life right now. Especially not the weather…
